Lasseters is Alice Spings’ number one venue for a great night out and offers superior 4-5 star accommodation and heaps of fun. It claims to be the “ceNTre of entertainment in Alice Springs” and we totally agree. Located just a few minutes from town and only 11km from Alice airport, getting to Lasseters is easy – though leaving could be harder! It is a short taxi ride or walk from the centre of town and those arriving by car can take advantage of free parking, with VIP parking for a fee.
First built in 1981 it has been known as Lasseters since 1986 and offers a fine hotel – which is set to get even better with the completion in 2014 of a $35m redevelopment – as well as the casino, three restaurants and two bars. Alongside all the casino games you would expect, there are TAB facilities, not to mention 22 large screens, in the sports lounge, and NT KENO as well.
There is plenty of poker too, with regular no-limit Texas Hold ‘em (buy-ins up to $200) and three card and Omaha also played.
Those looking for an all-inclusive break will find that Lasseters doesn’t have the facilities of larger resorts in Australia but the redevelopment will add more of pretty much everything you could wish to find. More parking, more restaurants, more hotel rooms and, best of all for those who don’t love the thrill of the tables and the pokies, a relaxation and massage centre as well as tropical resort pool and spa. Expected to be completed in May 2014 the renovations will transform Lasseters from a great casino into a great resort!
